La Central recycles time
Unique. Impactful. Engaging.
La Central is much more than a wall clock: it's a statement piece. Its name pays homage to Hossegor's iconic beach, a place of life, surfing, and a deep connection with the ocean.
Handcrafted from fibers of matt black painted wood and topped with a disc inrecycled plastic in a short circuit of the Basque Country and Landes, this clock embodies the very essence of the projectLittle Wave: transforming waste into durable, beautiful and meaningful objects.
Each central disc is unique– its random black and white or green patterns are the visible traces of a plastic formerly destined for landfill, now recycled locally. This short circuit work limits the carbon footprint and contributes to the preservation of the marine environment, seriously threatened by microplastics. It is estimated that around 11 million tons of plastic are dumped into the oceans every year.
The wooden hands give the whole thing a simple and contemporary design, which fits just as well into a minimalist interior as into a world inspired by nature.
La Central, it is an aesthetic and ecological gesture. A clock that not only tells the time, but also the tone: that of change.
